Former Armenian MP and special envoy Edmon Marukyan warned that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Abu Dhabi could lead either to the withdrawal of Azerbaijani forces from Armenian territory or to new unilateral concessions by Yerevan.
In a social media post on Wednesday, Marukyan noted that Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Shahin Mustafayev, who head their countries’ border delimitation commissions, were part of the delegations. He criticized past instances where Armenia ceded territory to Azerbaijan without reciprocal gains, calling the process “disgraceful border delimitation".
He urged the Armenian media to press officials, particularly Grigoryan, on what outcomes the public should expect from the ongoing delimitation talks.
