Russian FM to meet with Armenian parliament speaker in Moscow

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is set to meet Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan in Moscow on 5 February, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.

The meeting will take place during Simonyan’s official visit to Russia from 4 to 7 February at the invitation of the Russian Federation Council speaker. He is heading a delegation that includes members of Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party.

Speaking to reporters, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the talks would focus on current issues of bilateral cooperation as well as regional developments.

She added that particular attention would be paid to cooperation between Moscow and Yerevan within Eurasian multilateral frameworks and ongoing dialogue in that sphere.
