Rockfall blocks major Yerevan road

Traffic along one of Yerevan’s major roads was disrupted on Wednesday afternoon after large boulders broke away from a hillside and crashed onto the roadway.

The incident occurred on Myasnikyan Avenue at 13:55 local time. Video footage posted on Facebook by journalist Tatul Hakobyan shows massive rock fragments strewn across the tarmac. Hakobyan reported that his car’s windshield was damaged in the fall.
