Armenian schoolboy hospitalized after classroom fight discharged, case under investigation
A 13-year-old student who was injured in a fight at a school in Armenia’s Lori Province has been discharged from hospital, the school director said on Thursday.
The incident occurred during a break at the secondary school in the village of Jrashen on Wednesday. Its Director Armine Mkhitaryan told Panorama.am that the boy is now at home but remains under medical supervision.
Mkhitaryan said the students involved had not previously shown behavioral problems, describing them as “active, friendly children who study well”. She declined to comment on the cause of the dispute or the number of participants, citing the ongoing investigation.
Armenia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case into the incident. Local media reported that the injured child was initially transferred by ambulance to a specialized hospital in Yerevan.
The director stressed that staff were present at the school and that all necessary measures had been taken following the incident.
