Armenia"s economy minister hints at possible surprises in ruling party candidate list

Armenia’s Economy Minister and Civil Contract Party board member Gevorg Papoyan said on Saturday that the ruling party’s candidate list for upcoming parliamentary elections could contain unexpected developments.

 

Papoyan noted that internal voting within the party may lead to results that differ from expectations. “I assume there will be some surprises. Some people may have expected to be in the top 50 but won’t be, or vice versa. That’s what elections are about – surprises are normal,” he told reporters.

 

In recent days, Civil Contract members have been actively campaigning on social media, seeking support from fellow party delegates to secure positions on the electoral list.
