Armenian businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan has long placed education and culture at the center of his philanthropic work, with his family supporting teachers, scientists and cultural figures since the 1990s.
Archival footage shows one example of this commitment, when more than 300 teachers and 50 young researchers from Armenia’s Lori region gathered under one roof to receive the Karapetyan family’s annual awards.
In 2014, under the family’s patronage, scholar Albert Isoyan published “Heavenly Land: Foreigners on Armenia and the Armenians”, a book that drew on 25 years of research. The volume compiles testimonies from hundreds of foreign authors and public figures about Armenia, its people and the Armenian Genocide.
