Air quality in central Yerevan remained at concerning levels from February10-16, according to the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center.
Dust concentrations exceeded permissible limits in the city’s Kentron district for the entire week. Elevated levels were also recorded in Shengavit on Feb. 11 and Feb. 15-16, and in Arabkir on Feb. 14. No exceedances were reported in Nor Nork.
The center said nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide concentrations did not exceed permissible limits during the reporting period.
In other Armenian cities, dust levels exceeded permissible concentrations between Feb. 7 and Feb. 13.
In Vanadzor, elevated dust levels were recorded near Tsaturyan Street on Feb. 8, while areas near Heratsi and Vardanants streets did not exceed limits. Hrazdan reported exceedances from Feb. 7-9. In Ararat, elevated levels were observed on Feb. 7, 11 and 13. No exceedances were recorded in Gyumri.
