Armenian, Iranian defense ministers discuss regional and international security

Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan met with his Iranian counterpart Brigadier General Amir Aziz Nasirzadeh in Tehran, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday.

Papikyan held talks with Iranian Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Aziz Nasirzadeh as part of his official visit to the Islamic Republic. Armenian Ambassador to Iran Grigor Hakobyan also attended the meeting, the ministry said in a statement.

The ministers praised the current level of defense cooperation between Armenia and Iran and reaffirmed their commitment to further developing bilateral ties.

They also discussed a range of issues related to cooperation in the defense sector and exchanged views on regional and international security matters.
