Armenia reshuffles senior police leadership

Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced major changes in police leadership.

Criminal Police chief and deputy police head Vardan Vardanyan has been replaced by Colonel Artur Barseghyan and appointed adviser to the minister.

Community Police chief Karen Hakobyan has been succeeded by Colonel Karen Khachatryan, who will serve as acting head. Hakobyan also becomes an adviser.

Patrol Service chief Artur Khudinyan has been replaced by Lieutenant Colonel Gevorg Zakaryan and named assistant to the minister.
