Former ambassador says Polish Armenian community snubbed Pashinyan meeting

Former Armenian Ambassador to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan claims that the Armenian community in Poland largely declined to meet Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during his recent visit.

In a social media post on Thursday, Ghazaryan said Pashinyan met with only around 40 people, many of whom were Polish rather than Armenian. He stated that the country’s Armenian diaspora, estimated at several tens of thousands, did not send prominent representatives to the meeting.

“Remarkably, none of the prominent figures of Poland’s Armenian community attended the meeting, including clergymen from the Armenian Apostolic Church or the Armenian Catholic Church,” Ghazaryan wrote. He described the absence as a rejection of Pashinyan, whom he labeled “a thief and traitor of the homeland.”
