Parents of Armenian soldier found dead at combat post abroad

The parents of a 19-year-old Armenian soldier found dead at a frontline position in eastern Gegharkunik Province are currently abroad, Shamshyan.com reported. His father is undergoing medical treatment and his mother is accompanying him as caregiver.

The Defense Ministry said the body of conscript Narek Hakobyan was discovered at one of its combat posts on Thursday. The circumstances of his death are under investigation.

The Armenian Investigative Committee said one person has been detained in connection with the incident.
