Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said while the US and Israel started the latest war against the country, it is Iran that will decide how and when the war is going to end, Tasnim news agency reported.
“We have had two decades to study the defeats of the US military to our immediate east and west. We’ve incorporated lessons accordingly,” Iran’s top diplomat wrote in a post on X Sunday, referring to the US military invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan in the early 2000s.
“Bombings in our capital have no impact on our ability to conduct war,” he added.
“Decentralized Mosaic Defense enables us to decide when – and how—the war will end,” Araqchi emphasized.
Explosions are being heard in Iran, Israel and across several Middle Eastern states after the United States and Israel began attacking Iran on Saturday.
Tehran has responded by launching waves of missiles and drones at Israel and towards several military bases in the Middle East where US forces operate.
