Poll shows support for Strong Armenia party in Yerevan, member says

A survey conducted by research and consulting firm Empirica indicates that if parliamentary elections were held now, 35% of voters in Armenia’s capital Yerevan would support the Strong Armenia party, according to party member Gohar Meloyan.

Meloyan shared the polling results on her social media page on Tuesday, citing findings from the Empirica survey comparing public support for potential prime ministerial candidates.

According to the data presented, businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan holds an advantage over Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan among several demographic groups.

Among respondents aged 18-29, Karapetyan leads Pashinyan by 18 percentage points, while in the 30-49 age group he leads by 4 percentage points.

In Yerevan overall, 49% of respondents said they would choose Karapetyan as prime minister, compared with 24% who said they would back Pashinyan, Meloyan wrote.

The survey also found that if parliamentary elections were held now, 35% of voters in Yerevan would vote for the Strong Armenia party.
