Mirzoyan says no progress yet on talks with Azerbaijan over Armenian prisoners
Foreign Minster Ararat Mirzoyan says Armenia has not yet achieved results in efforts to secure the return of prisoners held in Azerbaijan.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Mirzoyan said Yerevan’s position on detainees remains unchanged and stressed a preference for quiet diplomacy over public statements.
“I prefer not to speak extensively or publicly about this issue, but to focus on the work itself. When there are results, the public will be informed,” he said.
Mirzoyan added that the release of all remaining detainees would represent an important step toward strengthening peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
He said talks con primarily with Azerbaijani counterparts, adding that while there has been no progress so far, the issue remains a priority on Armenia’s agenda.
