Armenia to raise Constitutional Court judges' pay with seniority bonuses

The Armenian government has approved a plan to increase the salaries of Constitutional Court judges by introducing monthly seniority bonuses ranging from 150,000 to 510,000 drams.

Addressing the parliament on Wednesday, Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan said the measure aims to bring judicial pay in line with the “high legal status” of the court’s members. Judges currently earn about 1.3 million drams per month before tax.

Under the proposal, bonuses will be calculated based on years served, starting from the second year of a judge’s 12-year term. Payments will rise progressively: 20% in the second year, 35% in the third and an additional 10% for each subsequent year, capped at 11 years.

The ministry estimates that in 2026, the president, vice president and seven judges of the Constitutional Court will receive a combined 47 million drams ($115,000) in seniority payments.
