Pro-government MP Vladimir Vardanyan elected as Constitutional Court judge
The Armenian parliament majority on Wednesday elected ruling Civil Contract faction MP Vladimir Vardanyan as a judge of the Constitutional Court following his nomination by President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
At the opening of the parliament session, Counting Commission Chairman Narek Babayan announced that out of 107 deputies, 67 participated in the vote. All 67 votes were cast in favor of Vardanyan’s candidacy.
National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan congratulated Vardanyan on his election, adding that he will take the oath of office at Thursday’s sitting.
