Strong Armenia party member outlines vision for national security

A member of the Strong Armenia party has outlined a vision for national security, saying that “lasting peace begins with steps taken today”.

In a video posted on social media on Thursday, Gohar Ghumashyan listed two priorities, including the introduction of high‑technology border protection with modern fortification systems and the establishment of a multi‑layered air defense system.

“These goals will soon be achieved in a Strong Armenia led by future prime minister Samvel Karapetyan,” she said.

The party is led by businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan, who remains under house arrest on charges of calling for the seizure of power in Armenia rejected by his lawyers and experts as politically motivated.
