Armenians face choice between Pashinyan and Karapetyan, opposition figure says
Armenia’s political discourse is increasingly crystallizing around two figures, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and opposition leader Samvel Karapetyan, says his nephew Narek Karapetyan, a board member of the Strong Armenia party.
Speaking to Armenia TV on Wednesday, Karapetyan framed the choice as a decisive juncture for the country’s future. “Our society must decide – either Pashinyan or Karapetyan,” he said, underscoring what he described as a stark contrast between continuity and change.
Karapetyan argued that a vote for Pashinyan would prolong instabiliy, while backing Karapetyan would mark a pivot toward “real guaranteed peace” and a comprehensive economic program aimed at eliminating poverty in Armenia’s regions.
