Serzh Sargsyan: RPA will support all opposition forces in upcoming elections

Former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, the leader of the Republican Party of Armenia, said on Saturday his party would support all opposition forces in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

“We'll back all opposition contenders,” Sargsyan told reporters ahead of the party’s 18th congress when asked which opposition forces the party planned to support.

He declined further comment, saying answers to outstanding questions would be delivered during the congress.

Earlier this week, the Republican Party said it had decided not to run in the elections following a comprehensive assessment. The party added that the rationale behind the decision, along with its next steps, would be outlined at the April 4 congress.
