One person was killed and at least 12 others injured on Saturday in a road accident involving a police bus operated by Armenia’s Interior Ministry.
The collision occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m. local time on the Kuchak-Aparan highway, where a bus belonging to the Interior Ministry’s police guard unit collided with a Nissan passenger vehicle, the ministry said in a statement.
Preliminary data indicates that one person died at the scene, while 12 others sought medical assistance following the crash.
A criminal investigation has been launched into the circumstances of the incident.
Local media outlet Ishkhanutyun reported that the bus was traveling to the town of Spitak as part of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s motorcade.
