Armenian parliament speaker to meet with Azerbaijani counterpart in Istanbul

Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan will meet with his Azerbaijani counterpart during an upcoming visit to Istanbul.

Simonyan is due to attend the 152nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly, taking place from 16 to 19 April in Turkey’s largest city. Speaking to reporters in Yerevan on Tuesday, he confirmed that meetings with the heads of parliament from Azerbaijan and Georgia are already scheduled.

“I assume I will also engage with my Russian colleague,” the speaker added.
