Armenian parliament confirms new regulator member

The Armenian National Assembly on Thursday approved Davit Khachatryan as a member of the Information Systems Regulation Commission, following a proposal by the ruling Civil Contract party.

Out of 107 MPs, 61 took part in the secret ballot, with all votes cast in favour. No invalid ballots were recorded, according to Narek Babayan, head of the Counting Commission.

The commission oversees key areas of Armenia’s digital infrastructure, including electronic identification, digital signatures, encryption software, the I am identity platform, government information systems, secure data access, the state network, and interdepartmental electronic document circulation.
