Armenian opposition MP accuses government of failures ahead of elections

Armenian opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan on Friday criticized the government’s performance, accusing it of failing to address key domestic issues while relying on rhetoric and unfulfilled promises.

Writing on social media on Friday, Abrahamyan, a member of the Pativ Unem faction, said the authorities have not resolved even basic problems in the capital and instead project what he described as overconfidence.

“What have you done during this entire period? You have surrendered the homeland, led to thousands of casualties due to your adventurism and pushed Armenia into the ranks of third-world countries,” he said.

Abrahamyan also stated that the country’s leadership has compromised national interests in favor of external actors, saying Armenia’s priorities have been subordinated.

His remarks come as the ruling Civil Contract party, led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, prepares to seek a third term in upcoming parliamentary elections.
