CSTO chief expects lasting peace in South Caucasus after Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization

The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is hopeful that the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan will pave the way for lasting peace in the South Caucasus, Secretary-General Taalatbek Masadykov said on Monday.

Speaking at a session of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly in Moscow, Masadykov underscored that the bloc continues to closely monitor developments in the region. “We note encouraging trends aimed at signing a comprehensive interstate peace agreement between the two countries. We expect that the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations will be a reliable path to sustainable peace and stability in the South Caucasus,” he stated.
