Armenian regulator suspends boiler operations at Yerevan restaurant over illegal emissions
Armenia’s environmental watchdog has uncovered regulatory violations at a central Yerevan restaurant, ordering the suspension of key equipment and imposing penalties.
The Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body announced that an inspection at Armat Gastro Group LLC, operator of the Kamanchа Restaurant at 23/1 Tumanyan Street, revealed unauthorized atmospheric emissions.
According to the agency, the company had been running its boiler facility without the required permit for releasing harmful substances from stationary sources into the air. In response, the head of the inspectorate’s Yerevan territorial division ordered the immediate shutdown of all three boilers, citing unlawful operation.
Administrative action has been taken against the company’s director, including the imposition of a fine. The regulator has also issued a formal demand for compensation for environmental damage identified during the inspection.
