Armenian opposition MP slams government rhetoric shift on Artsakh

Armenian opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan has criticized a shift in the government’s rhetoric regarding Artsakh, drawing a contrast with earlier statements made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who once declared that “Artsakh is Armenia, period”.

In a social media post on Friday, Abrahamyan, a member of the Pativ Unem faction, argued that those who previously endorsed this position are now attempting to justify the destruction of cultural and religious heritage in Artsakh.

He further claimed that current narratives suggest Armenians who have lived in Artsakh for centuries no longer have the right to return to their homes.

“Moreover, they are portraying Artsakh as a threat to Armenia’s security, actively opposing anything associated with Armenian identity,” Abrahamyan said.
