Tsarukyan urges national unity, warns against forgetting past

Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan called for national solidarity during a meeting with residents in Yerevan’s Nor Nork district on Friday, inaugurating a new party office amid what his party described as a warm and candid atmosphere.

Tsarukyan underscored the need for continuous engagement with citizens, directing party members to document community concerns. “Despite the current challenges, we have a real opportunity to change the situation,” he said. “The key is to avoid indifference and, step by step, build transformation together.”

Rejecting speculation about his own political ambitions, Tsarukyan reiterated that he does not seek the premiership, instead calling for a future leader capable of uniting the nation. “I want my country to be strong, for smiles to return to people’s faces and for our children’s future to be bright,” he declared.

He criticized the government’s approach to peace and security, warning of potential instability. “We cannot forget our past. Those who forget the past cannot have a future,” he said, stressing that historical memory and collective resilience are essential for Armenia’s survival.

Residents expressed support during the gathering, with one attendee pledging her vote for Tsarukyan in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
