Armenian MP clashes with reporters during church ceremony

Independent Armenian lawmaker Gegham Nazaryan, a former opposition MP whose son was killed in the 2020 Artsakh war, lashed out at journalists during a church ceremony attended by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Saturday.

At the consecration of the restored Holy Trinity Church in the border village of Kirants, Nazaryan reacted angrily when reporters attempted to question him. “Who the heck is this? Get him out of here!” he said of one journalist.

“After August 2, I will be a free man, while you will rot in prison,” Nazaryan added, making insulting remarks about the reporter.
