Macron says strategic partnership with Armenia to be formalized with Pashinyan

French President Emmanuel Macron has arrived in Yerevan to attend the 8th summit of the European Political Community (EPC), joining dozens of European leaders for talks on regional security and cooperation.

In a social media post on Monday, Macron said he was “delighted to be back in Armenia” and thanked the country for its “warm welcome”. He added that “together with the European Political Community, we will continue to build a more sovereign Europe”.

The French president is due to hold talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the visit. “Together with my friend Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, we will formalize a strategic partnership between the two countries,” Macron said.
