Pashinyan invited to Moscow for Victory Day parade

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has been invited to attend the Victory Day military parade in Moscow on 9 May, marking the 81st anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory in World War Two.

The invitation was confirmed by Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin in an interview with the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Armenian Service on Wednesday.

“As far as I know, Moscow has invited the leaders of all friendly countries to take part in the May 9 parade,” Kopyrkin said.

When asked whether Pashinyan had accepted the invitation, the ambassador said he did not have that information.

The Armenian government has not yet issued an official statement regarding Pashinyan’s possible participation in the event.
