Samvel Karapetyan confident of election victory

Armenian businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan, the leader of the Strong Armenia party, is confident that he will become prime minister following the upcoming parliamentary elections, dismissing questions about alternative scenarios.

“We are heading toward absolute victory. The Armenian people have all the plans and are confident in this outcome,” Karapetyan told reporters on Thursday.

Pressed on whether his party would contest the election results or take seats in opposition if it failed to secure power, Karapetyan rejected the premise outright. “With 25% ratings they cannot maintain power in Armenia. After the elections I will be prime minister. Let’s not discuss meaningless things,” he said, referring to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s approval ratings.

Karapetyan emphasized that his party is pursuing the electoral process through legal means, while accusing the authorities of applying unlawful measures against his party members.

He brushed aside concerns that the Central Electoral Commission could suspend his party’s registration, calling such a scenario implausible.
