Strong Armenia party pledges greater support for farmers

Narek Karapetyan, the lead candidate of the Strong Armenia party running in the June 7 parliamentary elections, has pledged stronger institutional support for rural communities during a visit to the village of Taperakan in the country’s Ararat Province.

During meetings with local residents on Saturday, Karapetyan heard concerns over agricultural procurement, the lack of guaranteed markets for produce and what many villagers described as the persistent failure to adequately value the labor of farmers.

Residents raised particular concerns about the operation of collection centers and the economic uncertainty facing agricultural producers, many of whom struggle to secure reliable conditions for the sale of their goods.

Karapetyan said the issues highlighted by villagers reflected broader structural challenges confronting rural Armenia and stressed that agricultural development remains central to the party’s political platform.

“A strong Armenia must be built on strong communities, where people’s voices are heard and the work of farmers is recognized and fairly valued,” he said.

As part of the visit, Karapetyan also paid tribute to fallen heroes at a memorial.
