Nine Armenian animated films to be screened at Annecy Festival

Nine Armenian animated films will be screened in the Classics section of the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

The program includes:

  • “Echo” and “The Mice Meeting” by Ludmila Sahakyants,
  • “Happy Ending” by Gayane Martirosyan,
  • “The Unlucky Panos” and “Corridor” by Stepan Galstyan,
  • “Parvana” by Valentin Podpomogov,
  • “The Axe” and “Push Button” by Robert Sahakyants,
  • “The Giant Who Dreamed of Playing the Violin” by Ella Avagyan.

The films have played an important role in the history of Armenian animation, shaping its distinctive visual language and artistic identity. Their inclusion in the Classics section of the Annecy Festival is yet another opportunity to introduce the world to the Armenian animation school, which has a rich history and is considered one of the finest animation schools in the world.

The program is jointly implemented by the Armenian Cinema Foundation and the ReAnimania International Animation Film & Comics Art Festival.
