CIS to send 120 observers to Armenia for June elections

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Armenia has announced that the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will send 120 observers to monitor the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for 7 June.

CEC Chairman Vaagn Hovakimyan met with the CIS observer mission delegation, led by Deputy Secretary-General Nurlan Seitimov, to discuss preparations. According to the commission’s press office, the observers will be deployed across the country to oversee the conduct of the vote.

A total of 19 political forces have registered to take part in the elections to Armenia’s National Assembly, including 17 parties and two blocs. The CEC said it is working to ensure transparency and fairness in the electoral process.
