Russia says Armenia's gas discounts are subsidized by Moscow

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that Armenia’s reduced gas prices are directly subsidized by Russia, calling them Moscow’s contribution to supporting a “brotherly nation.”

“The discount Armenia receives is at the expense of the Russian Federation. This is our assistance to Armenia,” Peskov told reporters, stressing that such benefits are not cost-free.
