Armenian church leader visits Sardarapat Memorial on Republic Day

His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, paid a solemn visit to the Sardarapat Memorial on Republic Day, which is celebrated annually in Armenia on May 28. He laid a wreath and flowers at the memorial.

The church leader offered prayers for those who fought and sacrificed their lives in the battles of Sardarapat, Bash-Aparan, and Gharakilisa – struggles that made possible the restoration of Armenian statehood.

Members of the Strong Armenia party led by its board member Narek Karapetyan were also present at the memorial.
