Strong Armenia candidate unveils voter protection system ahead of June 7 elections

Gohar Meloyan, a parliamentary candidate from the Strong Armenia alliance, introduced a new system designed to safeguard voters’ rights as the country prepares for parliamentary elections on June 7.

At a press conference on Friday, Meloyan, who previously headed an election observation mission, said she has been fielding numerous inquiries about electoral law and reports of violations. She underscored that the bloc’s key priority is ensuring democratic, lawful, transparent and equitable elections in Armenia.

“We will invest significant resources to guarantee the legality of the electoral process for every citizen of the Republic of Armenia,” Meloyan stated.

Drawing on her experience monitoring both national and municipal contests, Meloyan noted that many voters arrive at polling stations uncertain about procedures. She stressed that citizens must carry valid identification – either an ID card or a passport – to cast their ballots.

She called on Armenians to confirm their inclusion in voter lists before heading to the polls.
