Strong winds cause damage across Armenia

Strong winds battered Yerevan and several regions of Armenia on Friday, toppling trees, electricity poles, and tearing off building materials.

The Interior Ministry reported that its emergency hotlines and regional operational centers received numerous calls reporting damage in the capital as well as in Vayots Dzor, Syunik, Shirak, Armavir, Ararat and Aragatsotn Provinces.

Rescue crews were dispatched to affected areas, where they cleared fallen trees, dismantled torn-off metal sheets and cordoned off hazardous zones. Officials confirmed that all reported incidents were handled promptly and in line with established procedures.

No casualties were reported.
