One dead in Armenia village fire

A house fire in the village of Mets Mantash in Armenia’s Shirak Province killed one on Sunday, the Interior Ministry’s Rescue Service said.

The fire was reported at 3:29 p.m local time. Two fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the scene. The fire had engulfed a 20-square-meter room, where rescuers later discovered the victim’s body.

The blaze was contained at 4:12 p.m. and fully extinguished at 4:29 p.m. Household furniture and belongings inside the room were destroyed, officials said. The victim’s body was transferred to a coroner’s vehicle.
