CSTO chief speaks on Armenia's membership

The leadership of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) still considers Armenia to be a full-fledged member despite certain statements coming from some of the country’s political figures, CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov said following a meeting of the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers on Wednesday.

Masadykov stated the possibility of Armenia’s withdrawal from the CSTO was not discussed at the meeting.

"I believe it is a political matter,” he said. “It is up to the people of Armenia and the Armenian leadership to make a decision.”
