Armenians hope for change ahead of Sunday’s elections

With parliamentary elections set for June 7, many Armenians are voicing strong expectations for change. In a street survey conducted in central Yerevan by Panorama.am, citizens shared visions of a brighter future, often tied to hopes of a new government.

Several respondents expressed frustration with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, predicting political turbulence if he resists the outcome. “I imagine a very good Armenia. I think Pashinyan will not accept his defeat and the country will be dragged into civil strife,” one participant said, adding that a rally by businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan's Strong Armenia party delivered the final blow to Pashinyan’s political standing.

Others offered more optimistic outlooks. “A strong and independent Armenia,” said one respondent. Another envisioned “a bright Armenia,” while a third hoped “the government will change and Armenia will become a prosperous country.”
