Tsarukyan calls for 1.5 million votes in Armenia's parliamentary elections

Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan capped his campaign with a symbolic call for 1.5 million votes in Sunday’s parliamentary elections, equating the figure to the 1.5 million lives lost in the Armenian Genocide.

“Just as 1.5 million candles honor the memory of our martyrs, 1.5 million votes can serve as a message of Armenia’s rebirth to the world,” Tsarukyan said in a statement on Friday.

He led thousands of supporters in a march to Freedom Square, emphasizing unity over division. “The country needs harmony, tolerance, and national solidarity — not hostility and fragmentation,” he declared.

Tsarukyan urged citizens to cast their ballots on June 7, framing participation as essential to preserving Armenia’s sovereignty. “Go to the polls so that Armenia remains sovereign and preserves its identity. Expect good changes,” he said.
