Narek Karapetyan says he voted for 'great change' in Armenia elections

Narek Karapetyan, the leader of the Strong Armenia alliance, said he voted “for great change and  Armenia's reconstruction” as voters across the country cast ballots in Sunday's parliamentary elections.

Speaking to reporters after voting at a polling station in his hometown Tashir, Karapetyan said Armenia should focus on national development rather than political divisions and internal conflicts.

“I voted for great change and for a rebuilding Armenia — an Armenia where people are primarily focused on rebuilding their country rather than harming one another, fighting and deepening divisions,” he said.

Karapetyan called for greater unity and cooperation, saying the country should work toward sustainable growth and long-term development.

“We must begin building a country that continues to grow stronger, one that future generations can strengthen even further, rather than leaving them with the same problems,” he said.

He also urged citizens to take part in the elections, describing voter participation as essential to shaping Armenia’s future.

“If citizens do not take the time to vote, their future will be decided in another way,” Karapetyan said. “If you want a say in your own future and in the country’s development over the next five years, go to the polls. It takes only 10 minutes.”

2,485,851 registered voters are eligible to cast ballots at 2,005 polling stations across the country.
