Prosperous Armenia Party flags vote count discrepancies in election results

The Prosperous Armenia Party said on Monday it had identified discrepancies between vote counts recorded in precinct protocols and figures published on the Central Electoral Commission's (CEC) website following Sunday's parliamentary election.

Its spokesperson Iveta Tonoyan said the party had initiated recount requests at a number of polling stations and uncovered significant inconsistencies in reported results.

According to Tonoyan, the official protocol from Precinct 27/7 recorded 77 votes for the party, while the CEC website listed the party as receiving a single vote. At Precinct 12/20, the protocol showed 26 votes for Prosperous Armenia, compared with one vote published online.

She also pointed to discrepancies at Precinct 27/26, where the protocol recorded 19 votes for the party while the CEC website showed three, and at Precinct 38/53, where the protocol listed seven votes compared with four reported online.

“These are indisputable facts and anyone can verify these discrepancies on the CEC website,” Tonoyan said in a statement.

The reported discrepancies have been submitted to the Central Electoral Commission, and the data are currently being reviewed and corrected, she said. Tonoyan added that the party continues to examine results from other polling stations and expects to release additional findings.
