Strong Armenia candidate alleges voter roll discrepancies after elections

Gohar Meloyan, a parliamentary candidate from the Strong Armenia party and a constitutional law expert, has alleged significant irregularities in Armenia's voter registration data following Sunday's parliamentary elections, pointing to discrepancies in official voter figures and unusually high numbers of registered residents at hundreds of addresses.

In a social media post on Tuesday, Meloyan said data released by Armenia's Interior Ministry and the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) showed differing counts of registered voters in the months leading up to the vote.

According to figures cited by Meloyan, the Interior Ministry's Migration and Citizenship Service reported 2,489,031 registered voters on Feb. 11, 2026, and 2,473,445 on May 23, 2026. The ministry's website listed 2,485,224 registered voters on May 31, while a CEC protocol dated June 8 recorded 2,507,216 registered voters.

Meloyan said the discrepancies raise questions about the accuracy of the voter rolls.

She also claimed that an analysis conducted by her team identified 689 addresses where between 20 and 303 citizens were registered at a single location.

"The electoral distortions are extensive and multifaceted," Meloyan wrote, adding that her party is seeking to challenge the impact of documented unlawful interference in the electoral process.

Meloyan thanked supporters for their participation in the elections, saying voters had demonstrated determination despite pressure and obstacles during the campaign.
