Erdogan congratulates Pashinyan on election victory

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his party’s victory the June 7 parliamentary elections.

In a message released by the Armenian government, Erdogan extended his “heartfelt congratulations” to Pashinyan and his Civil Contract party, which secured success in the vote. He wished Pashinyan well in forming a government for the third time.

“I am fully confident that your strategic vision regarding the establishment of lasting peace and stability in the region, and ensuring the necessary cooperation in this regard, will be successfully realized,” Erdogan said. He wished good health and prosperity to Pashinyan and “prosperity and happiness” to the Armenian people.
