Armenian investigators search home of opposition politician Aregnaz Manukyan

Armenian investigators on Friday raided the home of opposition politician Aregnaz Manukyan, a senior member of the Mother Armenia party and a candidate on the Prosperous Armenia Party electoral list.

Officials from the Investigative Committee arrived at Manukyan’s residence early in the morning to carry out the search.

Before allowing investigators inside, Manukyan asked them to identify themselves and present the court order authorizing the search.

“We have a court order to conduct a search of your residence. You are obstructing our actions. Turn off your phone,” one official told her.

Manukyan again requested to see the court order while continuing to record the exchange on her phone. The official repeated his demand that she stop filming and instructed officers to take the device.
