Strong Armenia warns of fake accounts claiming party affiliation

The spokesperson for the opposition Strong Armenia party, which won parliament seats in the June 7 elections, warns that fake social media accounts and online platforms have been distributing false information while claiming to represent the party.

“We have received reports that various fake platforms and accounts are spreading information on our behalf that does not correspond to reality,” spokesperson Marianna Ghahramanyan said in a statement on Saturday.

According to Ghahramanyan, messages have been sent to media outlets and journalists from fake accounts posing as supporters of the Strong Armenia alliance in an apparent attempt to create misleading impressions and spread disinformation.

“We officially declare that such messages have no connection to Strong Armenia and do not reflect our position,” she said.

Ghahramanyan urged media organizations, journalists and the public to exercise caution and verify information exclusively through the party’s official communication channels.
