Armenia's anti-corruption chief calls for election law reforms after June 7 vote

Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee chairman has urged Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan to propose legislative changes following the June 7 parliamentary elections, citing concerns over corruption-linked electoral offences.

In a statement released on Monday, the committee said it had reviewed cases uncovered during the pre-election period, identifying mechanisms and circumstances that enabled such offenses. Based on those findings, the chairman petitioned the justice ministry to draft reforms aimed at closing loopholes and preventing repeat violations.

One proposal would disqualify political groups implicated in criminal schemes from contesting future elections.
