Armenia's Constitutional Court receives challenge to parliamentary election results

Armenia’s Constitutional Court has received a petition from the opposition Strong Armenia alliance contesting the results of the June 7 parliamentary elections.

The top court said the application was formally registered on Friday. Within two days, the court will hold a procedural session to determine whether the case is admissible. If accepted, a reporting judge will be appointed to prepare the matter for oral hearings.

Under Armenian law, disputes over parliamentary election outcomes must be reviewed through oral proceedings. The Constitutional Court is required to issue a ruling no later than 15 days after the petition is filed.
